It seems weird that places not next to each other are launching missiles around. Other than the US attacking random places like Grenada or Iraq, does this happen much? I'd think most countries that go to war wouldn't have non-combat places in between.

I think it will if it believes Israel is in genuine danger, both because Trump won't be the president to let Israel fall, and, if the US doesn't intervene when Israel is in danger, then they will nuke Tehran

Escalation could be to deliver simple weapons (assault rifles, ammo) to resistance groups that storm police stations and other local government agencies. Low flying freight planes could do that since air defense seems to be destroyed.
