Since Spanish was the first language that I learned the rules of pronunciation for outside my native language of English, and my brain loves to put everything into categories, growing up, anything I read that I knew was not an English word first got the Spanish pronunciation treatment in my head.

I was that guy who'd correct people on the pronunciation of Pokémon (Po-KAY-mon) whenever I heard it pronounced wrong. Boy was I in for a deviating blow when I learned that I was pronouncing Arcanine wrong for years. I was so ashamed I can't even remember how I was saying it since grade school.

This game right here. I loved this game as a kid, but I kept calling it saga frontier for some reason, I don't know why other than I was 15. So every time I tried to buy it they always tried to sell me the other game. But I do recommend it, it's like an anime style Zelda dungeon crawler game.

But then I found out it's called Faxanadu because it was the FAmicom port of the game Xanadu. So now, now, I don't know HOW it's meant to be pronounced. I just know the last part is "zann-ah-doo".

Mine is Xexyz for the NES, a now mostly forgotten game that was sort of notorious for this when I was a kid. I would go between "Zek-sus" and "Zezz-iz" but I have no idea if either of those is right since I've never heard it talked about in any sort of official capacity

I think that’s right. I have always said it as”DUR-rahn-del” and I now think that last bit is wrong because Latin languages use “e” for the flat a sound. Of course I see now, that some sources of the Saga of Roland spell it “Durandel” so maybe it is a flat a at the end. Fascinating!

Back in like 2005 when RuneScape was gaining massive popularity, a few of my friends and I thought that it was pronounced Run-Escape.

To be fair, being kids at the time, we didn't know what a rune was. Sometimes you had to Run and Escape from monsters in the game, so Run-Escape made more sense.
