I'm not even sure if this'll be for classic Sega games in an NSO-style way after Shuji Utsumi's statement of "We are not a retro company" and that legacy titles "Must be brought forward" and quashing Saturn/DC minis.

They've got some of the most iconic games, systems and characters and they seem to be flapping around like a fish out of water.
Rather than creating a unique selling point for their assets, they're just saying "me too!".
It should support Master System, Mega Drive and Game Gear games.
Doesn't even need to be a unique board, they could do what Anbernic are doing, but it would need three buttons.
They'd get a ton of data on their fans to upsell additional and new games.
Slowly add online services back in.
Add in support for those services to PC and other console games.

You have to remember that the DC cost SEGA well over $160 million. Even if you have fans claiming they’ll buy a remade version of a console that nearly bankrupted your company. You have every reason not to take that bait.
