Obviously Trump remains a very bad person on track to do very bad things but after all the come save us invade Britain stuff from the British radical right the quote here is, objectively, very funny

This casts a very searching light on the recent string of articles in newspapers (well beyond the usual suspects) claiming that the UK govt is hated by the Trump White House. They're going to have to take a close look at the quality of their sources.
This was one of the patterns of his first term, he seems to actively enjoy doing this sort of thing.
No idea if it is a sort of loyalty test, his love of humiliating people or both.
I think he'll probably hang on - his money will outweigh a lot of annoyance for Trump, and Trump's power will outweigh a lot of embarrassment for Musk.
Might well be quite a bit of money funnelled from Musk to Trump though, to keep things ticking along between them.
It's fun to imagine Trump half-listening to literal months of Musk's unhinged drug-fueled ranting about Two Tier Keir being a child rape genocide lover and coming away thinking "I love this guy"
I know I keep saying this, but Trump does genuinely love Scotland, or at least parts of it. Along with his teetotalism, fashion sense and love of tariffs, it's one of the few constants in his life and one on which he has always been prepared to invest in with his own money.
Starmer just needs to take him to Balmoral, and offer him a verdant slice of Highland pine forest for a golf resort and he'll sing his praises forever.
Trump is of course eligible to become a British citizen, and he could be ennobled as a result. He could be a literal Lord, albeit this may have consequences for his ability to remain President.
Johnson hastily rewrites his latest Mail screed.
Truss sobs into her prosecco.
Badenoch flings her lunch across the room.
Kim Jong-un pulls a hurty face.
Starmer literally just has to butter him up a bit honestly. Give him a visit to Balmoral and a trip to the palace. He’ll lap it up and Elon is definitely really annoying
Macron managed it easily enough although I think Macron despite being a turbo centrist global order guy fundamentally sees the world in a similarly transactional way to Trump and probably understands him pretty well
Step 1: Stroke his ego enough to dodge first round of blanket tariffs
Step 2: Congressional GOP indiscriminately detonates clean energy contracts and subsidies
Step 3: ???
Step 4: 10% GDP growth p/a

Which may also be true for most Brits
And somebody else has told him that Rachel Reeves would greet that suggestion with a very long, loud scream.
