It's like the NRLCA, we are almost divided 50/50. But being rural carriers, that's kinda expected but unfortunate.

It was Gospel among Economic Progressives for *generations* that deliverism was the key to winning elections. When Dems lost, they argued it was because they hadn't delivered 'enough.'
For a while I bought this argument too.
I've always felt frustrated how Americans have the mentality "Democrats don't do anything" or "neither party cares" when that's not true.
If Americans care more about braggadocio than results, that explains so much *and* is damning.
I mean I loved Barbara Ehrenreich's work for years, but she was in complete denial about what Trump's popularity meant hence her calling Hillary a 'snob.'
