It’s better for your mental health, too. Been off 24 hour cable news for 4 years now. I still am up to date with events and scandals, haven’t felt uninformed once without it.

What the public doesn’t realize is that legitimate reporters aren’t on a side. A lot of people can’t take that. For them, there are advocacy journalists like Meidas Touch podcasts. I consume a wide variety of news because I’m not offended by ideas that challenge my own.

I’m not sure most can get quality signal from local stations with antenna. I have tried in three separate states with no success even when only 45 miles from a major metropolitan area.

when we went to digital transmission the distances were shortened, compared to analog.

the antennas also need to be carefully "aimed" as digital is directional- like line of sight

most Americans live near enough a city

Yeah. We tried that. Aiming it helped as did upgrading the antenna we used, but not enough to make it worth it for us. I’m glad that it works for others, but I’m still not convinced it is an option for the masses.
