I spend a few minutes there every so often just searching my name and some moots. Any time I come across a thread it's like if the perception people have about reddit was a person. And they're all posting in one place anonymously with no way to tie it back to anyone. I've never cared to make an acct

Yeah unfortunately 4chan can be pretty racist. I saw a thread last time I was on there about Kuro from Vshojo's face reveal and everyone in the thread was calling him everything from slurs for asians, to calling him fat, and some called him a manlet which I'm not sure even applies here.

Generally 4chan doesn't have moderation. They only have some people for cleanup for some of the most heinous posts, but only for the very worst cases. Most of the threats just stay up.

I've found some of the most vile things on 4chan, so you better stay away. 4chan is pretty much the digital wild west, no rules, everything goes. Moderation? Not here. Funny meme in between? Sure, followed by a post about hating minorities. Harmful messageboards in between normal ones.

For all it's flaws I am constantly surprised by how aggressive the little moderation they do is though

They don't have many rules but one of them is "no cp" (which is OFTEN shared there) and they are hella quick on it.

Like, way quicker than billion dollar companies at least

mod won't care, so don't bother. don't worry about the chocolate vtubers thing, its good for you. im not saying publicity there is bad, like publicity on twitter wasn't bad. just its best to tread lightly, and self-promotion is a good way to draw ire. someone promoting for you, like your ed, is fine

I have seen raids. I have helped coordinate attacks on $cientology. I watched it evolve.

My opinion of it is: they are a valuable force of the internet, but tread lightly. I am wary of them.

I'm gonna be real, some of the worst things to ever come out of the internet came from 4chan (and then other imageboards later on). It's certainly not as bad as some other places, but it a haven for bigots and the alt-right (tho it varies from board to board). Not worth imo.
