Honestly? Yes. There's all this dehumanisation about how they're scary people going after your children and women (a pretty standard line for marginalised groups, Jews, Muslims, blacks, etc.). Just hang out with trans people and know that they're people like you. It won't always work, but might!

I can't speak for cats, but I can say everywhere I go, all the dogs love me. To the point I've had people ask me what I do to get them to like me so much. And I honestly don't know. If there's a dog around, It'll probably ignore everyone else to get pets from me. And I happily oblige them.
