I absolutely hate stevia. It burns out my taste buds and ruins anything I eat or drink for at least 24 hours. Once, I bought some cider from a brand I’d been interested in. It was semi-dry. I opened one and drank it and it tasted funny. Stevia. They ferment dry, then add that back. I was pissed.
there is not a single thing on earth that I would prefer to be sweetened with stevia than just left unsweet. it tastes like a plastics recycling company trying its best to make a sweetener.
Hubs struggles with mouth sores at times and I remember when I found that link with SLS and was relieved to see that the sensodyne we use didn’t have it. Especially given that we’d just gotten the huge pack from Costco. 🤣
This got me looking real close at my toothpaste, which turns out also has stevia, but listed as rebaudioside a, which Wikipedia says is a steviol glycoside. Thank you for prompting a closer look! (I hate it)
Stevia has the worst aftertaste. I once ate a stevia leaf out of curiosity (it wasn't mainstream yet) and I literally tried wiping off my tongue because of the overwhelming nastiness.
I think someone else may have suggested it, but I use Sensodyne Pronamel. My husband has issues with SLS and mouth ulcers, and it doesn't seem to exacerbate things.

SLS-free, has fluoride. I think sucralose is the sweetener (but it has never struck me as at all sweet).
