I suspect some wealthy people actually prefer higher unemployment, as it makes employees more willing to tolerate low wages and abusive / unethical behavior on the part of their employers. Economic instability also creates opportunities for some businesspeople.

No offense, but this isn’t a “healthy” economy. I understand that the standard metrics indicate macroeconomic stability, but the U.S. economy serves the billionaire class and capital, not actual people.
