I like this, as a good principle for *all* allyship, not just LGBTQ+. Includes some acknowledgements:
- I *will* fuck up at times.
- I should learn from those mistakes and endeavor not to repeat them, or not make them in the first place.
- Regardless of my effort, I am not owed any special grace.

Reminder as a cis straight person I don't consider it my place to label myself an ally, or to tell LGBTQ+ folks that they're safe with me. That's for others to decide based on my behaviors and actions. It's entirely possible there will be differing opinions; there's no single certification board.
