So, short of a military mutiny at mid-rank levels (after Trump secures the top), I don't see anything stopping full-on totalitarian use of Presidential command powers. And I don't see that.

Excellent summary of the existing laws. Too bad the Supreme Court has said the president can’t be prosecuted for official acts, making them all useless. I guess military personnel can be charged, but who’s going to do it? I have no faith that anything is going to be able to stop this once it starts.

Trump will find it hard to get all military on board to go against fellow citizens or immigrants; but in the same vein, there will be some who are happy to oblige. The laws, judiciary, & Constitution only hold weight if people who value those principles uphold them. We are in perilous times folks.
