i’ve been thinking about this lately but it’s so incredibly sad but funny that it’s surprising that there’s social media still out there that is good for writers or content creators in general. bluesky is leagues above every other social media right now it’s kind of astonishing

Also, holy shit, Bluesky sends real traffic. Will update this tomorrow with firm numbers but journalism is going to move here for sure. Twitter is a drop in the bucket. It's over, but we are so back, and so on and so forth

Hoping I'll be able to edit posts here free at some point. 🤞🥹🤞
As I implied in another reply, much like in the gaming space, there are ways to monetize ethically and ways to botch it. If the power users are on a relatively even field with free users and free users aren't denied a healthy experience, it should be fine then. 👍
Extra frills would be fine, I guess.
One of the many fundamental misunderstanding Musk had about what he bought is that Twitter was the last written microblogging site around.
Of course a site that "did what Twitter used to do only safer" would be what the doctor ordered. 🥰
It's an absolute no-brainer.
I don't think I know what sustainable social media looks like
bluesky serving posts to you that are made by people you follow means you can still live in your little space but talk to others too and it feels like forums used to do
Perception is also key, and when the perception is “twitter? The nazi site?” it’s also just objectively funny
Life finds a way though, clearly.
There are enough blocking tools here, even down to the user level.
Otherwise we are giving the power to those who control who gets deplatformed, rather than leave it in each users hand to make the social site be whatever he/she wants.
And the few that do, are scolded far more often. That behavior has not yet been normalized here, and I hope it never is.
