since i’ve been alive i don’t think i’ve ever seen the median democratic party voter genuinely pissed off at the democratic party leadership. this is a very strange moment and i hope will lead to change

I was struck today just by how different the mood is whenever Trump is back in the picture.
Like politics in side a snow globe being violently shaken by a 2 year old. Whatever happens in the globe, you never get to stop thinking about that 2 year old.
It can if "left populist" abandon reactionary Maga & help centrist voters understand who is gonna stand up for them. 🤷♂️ Stop fighting liberals & rolling out the carpet for Maga just flip that around.
what's different about this from obama and even bernie, we know better this time and it's the people's energy to squander, not the party's.
about time people are getting pissed.
As someone that watches way to much history stuff while arting, if I don't see a democrat protagonist start building up, I'm just gonna start sending Shummer Luigi’s Mansion copies!
It seems unprecedented for the democrats to be so divided internally, for that matter. It feels like there’s a schism forming between those who want to help their constituents and those that want to serve capital.
Do you want to get really pissed off? Watch chuck schumer on the view spouting lies about 10/7 about beheaded babies and raped women. And he says calling the genocide against Palestine a “genocide” is antisemitic.
All this a day after Israel resumed their genocide and killed 400 people and
The interesting thing about the parties is that the Republicans love their base even if the leaders hold the individuals in contempt. They will always play to the desires of their base. The Democrats, however, ignore their base and try to play to some mythic moderate who they think they win.
They expect their base to just fall in line and vote them in because "Blue no matter who." We see how well this strategy worked in 2024 and yet they don't seem to be learning. If you don't have your base's back they won't have yours.
republican leadership mostly thinks the republican base is stupid and "beneath them" but still give them everything they want. they know they have to at least pretend to love them. dem leadership doesn't even pretend to like or listen to their own voters.
the democrat party is acting like it's compromised, when the right wing is making leaps and bounds to bring back the axis of evil and the democrats aren't even making the tiniest motion to say, "what did elon mean when he said he's going to jail if trump doesn't win?"
seriously though me too, glad that the response seems to be to tell all of the dem consultants to stfu the second they begin uttering the word "bipartisanship"
I honestly think defecting & forming a new party is better than clinging to a sinking ship, trying to patch the giant holes. Central leadership walks or the base will.
Try this when we get RCV or a third party that’s actually winning even local elections. A ship even with holes is better than jumping to a ship that theoretically maybe might exist at some point or maybe not who knows
The fact is that democrats donmt campaign locally. They barely care about most state races. With the exception of blue strongholds, mostly cities, democratic insiders have ceded the field. Bernie, AOC, Crockett, these are the leaders of a new party, stifled by old rot with the Dems.
I mean that’s categorically wrong. I live in a fairly small town and the dems here definitely are campaigning at local elections. And we’ve seen local level dem campaigns in recent special elections flip incredibly trump towns, and we are seeing the start of the 50 state campaign
And I agree I’d want another party. In some blue (and some red) states there are talks of introducing RCV. When that happens I’ll fully back a left third party
I really hope we see major reform in the party within the coming years. The current leadership is unsustainable, especially when we’re facing totalitarianism and the decline of democracy from the other party. We need fighters, not appeasers.
Change is coming & it's just going to get weirder as time unfolds. I left the Dem Party after Bill Clinton betrayed the base & I've never looked back. Why so many remain Dems is related to either the battered spouse syndrome or Stockholm Syndrome, I believe. The DNC is NOT on our side, people.
It's remarkable. We really need to put our heads together to figure out how to expand this and turn this unique moment in history and turn it into radical change. People are done with the status quo.
Anger really is through the roof at this point. Smart Dems would get loud and defy as much possible to separate themselves from the rest of the feckless pack.
slightly unrelated but i just got an idea for a reality tv show or sitcom but it’s a leftist party and every episode is them trying to not split into different parties
i love the sentiment but it absolutely will not. liberals are not capable of wider change; they're gonna nominate Ossoff, Walz, Newsom, or Harris again in 2028 and it's gonna suck really bad, especially if it's Walz and we get an Obama '10 scenario where the Dems get deflated hardcore.
I think the median democratic party voter heard the entire election these very same people warn about Trump being fascist and they took it (rightly) to heart. But they're now seeing how the party cares about the dangers of fascism only during election season
To be fair, we’ve never been in times where they felt they needed to be. Trump and his bizarro world stranglehold on the GOP has completely turned things on their head. In a necessary way
as someone in a country with about 30 parties it’s always weird reading “the left party” and it’s even weirder knowing the context that THAT is your “left” party.
Can you use your hater dividends to buy the party a new monicker?
our challenge is to prove that we can execute on popular goals and build mass support in a way that redefines the liberal (democratic) party of the USA.
It's no small task because the leadership structure of the dem party is extremely rigid and designed primarily to advantage party seniority.
Biden and Harris' failure marks the end of the uninterrupted line of politicians, staffers and strategists that started with Bill Clinton and continued with Obama.

im glad we got Obama, dont get me wrong, but it sucks that we had to settle for Most Republican Democrat™
again, so sorry, shout out to my man Barry O, fave president since lincoln
but for fucks sake they call us socialists anyway, lets be socialists
There’s a lot of other stuff going on there, but the point remains.

Fuck chuck Schumer and the ineffective Democratic Party. We need a real opposition party, not this stupid aipac hacky nonsense.
The normies revolting is pretty much our only chance
When the same folks who were cheering for a genocide are being critical of The Dems, you know The Dems fucked up royally.
No one watches CNN or MSNBC since TV sucks these days, so control of the narrative is harder.
seriously though me too, glad that the response seems to be to tell all of the dem consultants to stfu the second they begin uttering the word "bipartisanship"
The sheer arrogance and hubris of trying to run again despite his clear advanced age cost the democrats dearly.
I’m hopeful for some of the governors starting to emerge as possible leaders but fuck the dems need to rethink their approach
It's just been long enough since "liberal" and "fire in the belly" went together that way that it's hard to even figure out what to call it
They are not putting their foot down with some even bending the knee.
It’s a thankless job.
They said, "When does early voting start?"
