There is nothing inherently wrong with America. Our system functions when its people show up to vote. If bad actors present themselves, voters have the power to reject them. We we're not going to fix this with 40% of eligible voters staying at home during elections.

But the Dems have to do more than message "We're not them." They have to take a stand and push back.
If they want to get voter turnout, they need to motivate them to do so.
California has two senators as does a smaller population state. Census was messed with in various ways—I was a census worker during the pandemic.
The result is as programmed.
Australia did it and it rebuilt their electoral system, adding a limit on donations as well.

There is a story of a voter in India, he is in his 90's. Lives 20 kilometres from the nearest voting station. Has never missed voting since 1950's. The last election he had to be carried to the voting station as he did not want to miss voting.

But at its heart I don’t believe the US wants this. Because Freedom and States Rights.
Difficult to implement a long legal battle to get it approved; but if it leads to larger public participation in democracy, all the better.
But it’s becoming harder now, with figures like Zuckerberg, Musk, and Bezos influencing the narrative and tech monopolies shaping public opinion.
It’s tough, but if we keep pushing for change and stay focused on the long game, we can get there.

In Canada our elections take about a month. That's it.
And, our judges are not affiliated with a party. We don't have that mindset here.
