That must be one of the oldest devkits.
The Switch devkit we used for Skellboy was the exact same size and everything as a regular Switch. Only visual difference was that the Joy-Cons were black. There were no extra ports or whatever on it.

You've ever seen a Nintendo Switch Development kit? it's more then double it's thicc-ness of a regular Switch! It also has a build-in HDMI, Network, and " Wii-Controller" - ports !

I think the one in the picture was so thicc because the Switch dock might not have finished its final design yet, which in turn leads me to believe that it was probably a pre-release devkit.
