Cheek to Cheek just came on, and the bit where Ella Fitzgerald goes, "I like to go out fishing, in a river or a creek" got me thinking... I don't think I've*ever* seen a woman fishing, either irl or in a film. Anyone?

Of course what leaps to mind is the one and only Countess Luann de Lesseps noodling a catfish with her bare hands in Crappie Lake. But I wouldn’t say she makes a habit of it.
You're probably too young to have been terrorised by regular TV showings of "On Golden Pond" with Henry & Jane Fonda and Kate Hepburn trying to express their emotions over fishing rods in a canoe.
Most of the fishing is Henry and grandson, but each of the women gets a little rod time.
An actual woman actually fishing is almost the entire premise of 1964 Howard Hawks sex-conflict comedy "Man's Favourite Sport" with Rock Hudson and Paula Prentiss.
The other half of the gag is RockH has been pretending to be an expert fishing journalist for years

I knew she fished because on one of the 300 occasions she choked on a fish bone in later life she said they were getting their own back
