I'm watching news in discrete batches only, with a primary focus on things I can do stuff about and things that directly affect me, not trying to be more than broadly informed about everything else, and aggressively and ruthlessly forcing myself to take large chunks of time for personal activities.

Taking on discrete, tangible tasks that improve your life is a major help, too, to the extent you can manage it.
I'm 50 and trying to learn this. It's absolutely essential.
But obsessively tracking every development on every front is actively harmful, IMO.
without keeping in mind what I can control or do something about.
And I don't always succeed - it's a battle. I just make sure I get up and try again when I fail instead of giving up.
But even two hours is hard.
I was woken up this morning at 5:05 AM by a panicked employee on the east coast who was fired as soon as she got to work.
