In Germany I'm a republican, in Denmark I'm a monarchist.

The Royal family in denmark gave up their power out of free will and allowed for a constitutional Republic to form, unlike Britain who still need the King and house of lords to protect their democracy.

That makes me respect them.

The King of Denmark dropped the three crowns symbolising Sweden. They referred to the Calamari Union centuries ago when the Nordics were a single state. Greenland (the bear) and the Faroe Islands (the sheep) gained additional space in the coat of arms as a result.

Not really a rebuke to Trump. They have been working more than a year on the changes. It was quite logical to remove Norway and Sweden from the coat of arms and give the remaining territories a more prominent place. Also King Frederik has served in the Sirius Patrol which patrols northeast Greenland

The Schleswig lions are still there but that country is at least partially under the Danish crown today.
