I was around for Reagan and AIDS and I really don't think people remember how bad it was. Reagan's press secretary, Larry Speakes, would actually laugh when it was brought up at press conferences. The world became a better place in 2014 when Speakes was no longer in it.

Exactly. Fundamentally republicans study the rules to undermine them. Democrats study the rules to keep the ideal of decorum. Trump’s presidency is the ideology of a rapist; decorum in these circumstances is absurd (as are little tiny signs). Shout don’t whisper in the face of the destruction.
