Purposeful dissemination of false information should be a criminal offense. When/if Dems get control of Congress and the executive branch, creating such a law should be one of the 1st things they do. Then, use this law to go after Fox "News" and its FCC license.

I think what’s so troubling is that people identify principles of government with establishment moral hand-wringing, and don’t recognize the political reasons these principles exist. We have these checks and balances because people died for their belief that consolidated power is an unfair system.

No, ProPublica is *not* a Fox News For Dems, they'll happily attack Dems if the story demands it.

Fox News develops a constantly rotating cycle of fact -> opinion -> report on opinion as fact that powers the entire conservative media sphere.

We've only ever seen this done in an anti-Dem fashion.

Yeah, they didn’t get very far. Tim Russert didn’t have a show on MSNBC iirc, but even with Chris Matthews, it was treated as the “left” version of Fox News. Matthews, as he endlessly repeated, was a staffer for Tip O’Neill and a Democrat.
