Short of an authoritarian autogolpe by Dems, which would have been diffused by SCOTUS just like every other positive Executive action Dems tried to take, nobody has managed to reason out how Dems could have totally clinched the election in the face of an electorate that didn't care about facts.

it’s comforting to imagine that nothing could’ve been done to prevent our current disaster, or at least that nobody could’ve known. but the truth is, since jan 7th, 2021, many people have been loudly yelling that we could end up right where we are now if the people in power didn’t change course

I hate this rage bait shit. It did remind me that I hadn’t muted ultrafleer yet. So, bright side and what not.
Biden got all the blowback for politicizing the justice department without any of the benefits
Musk is an incredibly notable example, given all the different investigations touching on him. They could've prioritized and knitted those instead of letting them grind along.
My dude, the time to get shit together was before 2016, the moment that progressive voters demonstrated that they didn't give two shits about SCOTUS or the most heinous and disgusting person possible having direct access to levers of power, we were fuckin' cooked.
Progressives/populists could have provided a New Voice for 2020, instead, they relied on the same tired old man
And as Adams showed in NYC, the Progressive People used their power to shoot themselves repeatedly in the foot and then demand Establishment Dems to fix it.
My *god* the network for *Uncommitted* could have easily put a progressive challenger on the scoreboard!
Meanwhile they never get their hands dirty. They just sit here smugly demanding we do what the say.
At this point I'm all for this administration ripping everything away from these people, especially these Podcasters, so they know what it's really like to suffer.
Which is hilariously idiotic but I guess it makes the cognitive dissonance go away
Lots of pretty progressive parties have done okay, but if leftist = must want to abolish capitalism? No
They hewed to obsolete norms about the politicization of the DOJ (avoiding appearance of impropriety in the face of real impropriety) and Executive privilege
decided to trust in the electoral process instead of using the legal process to maximize harm to Trump and MAGA
Post-Jan 7, the DOJ was inherently politicized. It was time for retaliatory norm breaking
What they’ve been doing is not obviously less sleazy than what Eric Adams got dinged for
Publish the documents in violation of past guidelines/EOs
Openly coordinate with state AGs on state charges instead of being afraid of appearing sleazy when you’re up against treason
Respond to defection in iterated Prisoner’s Dilemma with defection, not continued cooperation
PR
State prosecutions (happened, didn't affect anything)
More PR
That's a pretty far step from "immediately arresting Trump would have netted Dems a win".
Also they should have had a Special Counsel for Jan 6 by Jan 31
And the President has no business getting involved in criminal investigations or prosecutions. There was nothing Joe Biden should’ve been doing.
Murc's Law shows that avoiding this outcome was much harder than people think
