Without the Danish subsidy, won’t Greenland have to tax its residents to make up the difference? And won’t that have to be about $10k a year?

I missed this yesterday. Trump is considering offering all 57,000 Greenland residents a stipend of 10 grand a year to join the United States. That would cost the US $570 million a year. (Gift link 🎁)

Even before Trump, we treat the Americans in our territories like garbage. That's not even a secret.
The Greenlanders would be added to the list of people that have been stiffed by Trump. Greenlanders will get zip, zilch, nada, zipperoony.
100% guaranteed.
They could offer every Canadian $1,000,000/yr & we'd turn it down.
BTW, ~550,000 Americans go bankrupt every year due to medical bills. Countries that have 0: Canada & dozens of others - $0.00 HC BILLS
I wouldn't even want to imagine the cost to a patient that would have to rely on a US health system in such a remote location.
I hope the people of Greenland understand they'll end up losing everything if they trust Trump.
