he last time a federal election in Canada broke 70% turnout was 1988.
Will we break 70% in 2025?
In 1993, we came close, but didn't hit 70%. I'm writing on voter turnout so I'm thinking about this. I think we could break 70%.

I really hope we get well above 70% and closer to 80%.
Hopefully I will remember to check it after the election. lol
Is that possible on Bluesky?
If it's higher than that I'll ship you fresh lobster.

with 45% of riding. Watch Transcona/Elmwood for reference.
Hoping this does not happen, we see.

It is the CONs who need to Die & be washed away!!!
The #NDP as a Party needs to stay, & fix itself with a real #NDP Leader!!
Why do YOU want to get rid of them?? CON who hates all Progressives or what?

And they're only socially conscious in speeches and press releases.

Conservatives benefit from low turnout, since they seem to mobilize their voters well and have less splitting as the progressive side of the ledger.

The scared centrists turning out to vote against PP will be balanced by the depressed and disgusted left who have just given up on all parties.
This is the most consequential federal election since the Second World War. It isn't a time to sit on the sidelines sulking!
I, for one, would LOVE to see ANY politician acknowledge the self reinforcing Creep & present a plan to dismantle it...
Liberals are only a minor improvement over Conservatives. Voting Carney doesn't stop Canada's march to fascism, it just slows it down a little because Libs do nothing to make things better.
The Libs aren't perfect but they're better than the CPC.
They're both gonna kill ya.
One just does it quicker.
I grew up in Almonte, where a pile of dog shit could run as a Conservative and win. I know what it's like to feel like your vote doesn't count.
I also lived in PP's riding from '04 to '20. π
And besides all that... I live in the riding that's been held by Cheryl Gallant for 25 fucking years. You know what my ballot counts for?
JACK. SHIT.
When was the last time it was front pg news that a corruption loophole was closed or something PREVIOUSLY step-down worthy was LEGISLATED as disqualifying for leadership?
My first election voting was federally in 1988 - I voted to protect sovereignty (for the Liberals) and against Mulroney.
The Turner/Mulroney debate has been seared into my brain ever since...
