This is depraved. The US government has just announced they will be punishing anyone involved in Cuba’s famous overseas medical missions, including government officials in foreign countries whose people have benefited from Cuban medical assistance.

That's a direct attack to Brasil sovereign, because we have here a public health system with lots and lots of Cuban doctors taking care of poor people who cannot count on Brazilian doctors that don't want to work in small towns, indigenous and black communities.
It’s not just quick missions like in a natural disaster, Brazil has ~25000 Cuban doctors right now, kinda permanently.
Doctors here don’t want to work in rural areas, so the government made a deal with Cuba to bring them here so that these communities aren’t left without any access to healthcare.
In Brazil Cuban doctors come to work in small towns and isolated regions where local doctors refuse to work.
They provide health care to indigenous communities in remote areas and in the poorest regions of the country
Just puts a bigger target on the Cubans. Look at what happened with Panama. China might as well sit back and let the international community denounce this.

Here is the press release. https://state.gov/expansion-of-visa-restrictions-policy-for-individuals-exploiting-cuban-labor/
It’s truly that simple

The patients used to love them. Great doctors, amazing people. But Brazilian doctors hate them in a way that rendered several memes about it.

Which I can't argue with
