I'm not sure if you realize this but you caught a picture of the Andromeda Galaxy! It's the blurrier star I have circled. It's the sister galaxy to our Milky Way and the closest galaxy to us. You can also see it with the naked eye in low-light pollution! When I photographed it this is how it looked.
I was just thinking about the stars I'll see in the future as I spend time in my new (to me) holiday home in France. Skies like they were when I was a child in the 1960s.
I do take long exposures sometimes. Good job! Also you can see Pleiades in tbe bottom left corner. It's an open cluster.

YOOOO you got the pleiades star cluster ( bottom left corner) that star cluster is cool as hell and has a bunch on nice blue interstellar dust around it
Wide lens, proper camera, tripod, read how to set camera, choose location that is not light poluted, come before sunset to find good spot, check the moon is not big and shines, smaller the better.. There you go for start
That's stunning!! I love the contrast between the inky and the light blacks, esp with the tree there. I took this laying in my back yard the other week and I'm pleased with what I got free hand! Got clowned on in my first post elsewhere, but I love the aesthetic.
Pleiades is my favorite cluster. I went without glasses for a long time and always wondered what that spot in the sky was. I look at it now with glasses i could finally afford and now the cluster is a soft spot in my heart.
Thank you guys. I saw Pleiades last night & don't know much astronomy. I was trying to tell my sister hoping she would magically know (she's smart, not a wizard) It looked so cool, I was fascinated, it's nice to know what was fascinating.

I once tried to capture a super blue moon, but it was moving too fast for my settings that it turned into a blur.

Getting away from the city light always helps to bring out the stars
But I took this at 10 sec with only a ski pole for support on a analog camera in 1979 😉
