does anyone have favored alternative words to "crazy" etc.?
i recently learned that "cockamamie" is probably etymologically not related to madness at all.

A note on "goofy" being used in racist & sanist depiction.
Art Babbitt describes the character he created:
"Think of the Goof as a composite of
an everlasting optimist, a gullible
Good Samaritan, a half-wit, a shiftless,
good-natured n***-boy and a hick."

it's been hard lately, seems like ableist language never fully went away and now with *all this*, it's coming back, even in circles that mean well
Easy to stumble back into wacky, zany, or other poor substitute terms if I consult thesaurus.
My go to is "wild" if uncontrollable.
I just tell my 5yo I don't like those words. But it rarely feels right time to judge anyone else. Though ableism & racism have deep connection so be conscious where use supports yt supremacy.
*this is fine so far
There's also zany and screwball
I don't think I even computed the slur when it came to some of my actual favourite songs yet.
Like Queen, Heart, Rihanna, Beyonce. Any era.
Cannot be unseen. So now I have to live with that in my head :P
