I have a deep well of optimism. Republicans are incompetent leaders due to their self serving nature. They are able to convince people when they aren’t in power or have a deadlock. Once they gain the advantage they ALWAYS fail and get voted out in 2 years.
I'm sure I'm mostly in a pessimistic mood because we're staring down the barrel of 2 years of mismanagement and incompetence voted in due to fear, greed, and disinformation, but I am just not completely sure that old patterns will hold this time.
Bill Clinton days were the best days. Not disrespecting any other presidents that were also great. But in my voting era Bill Clinton was definitely the best president days of my lifetime so far.

I was only a teenager, but even I could see what Reagan was doing was 🐂💩. I watched my parents fight harder every year to get by. By the time I got to college, there was almost nothing left in the way of aid. I’m just lucky the student loans were at least manageable back then (low fixed rates).
That would take me back to when I was two. 🤔 At least the GOP had some modicum of respectability back then. Nixons show was more or less confined to his cabinet. The GOP in Congress let him know straight out they would vote to impeach him instead of bowing to him. We don’t have that anymore. 😢
