Good and loving and smart and honest people exist. There are a lot of them. More than the bad and cruel and dumb and mendacious. They're not perfect, they just care for others, even strangers. Not always actively, but as a default. Find them, celebrate them, commune with them. You are not alone

No one told me how fun 3d sculpting is

I'm so excited to get Pavlov'd (given a consistent stimulus pattern until my behavior preceeds the relevant stimulus, exhibiting that I now know and am comfortable relying on the consistency of the pattern)

If I were a chemist I would definitely start doing mental calculations about how the ingredients in my food would affect the pH in my stomach, assuming an average amount of stomach acid

Ever wondered why presenting more facts can sometimes *worsen* disagreements, even among rational people? 🤔 It turns out, Bayesian reasoning has some surprising answers - no cognitive biases needed! Let's explore this fascinating paradox quickly ☺️

Begging the auto industry to implement "nevermind" blinkers. Yes, I did turn my right blinker on, I thought that was my exit, but I was wrong. I would like to acknowledge that I goofed, and yes you can pass me now. My bad.

Had to turn off all bsky notifications because there's too many bots following me and theres not a specific option to disable new follow notifications 🫠

I 😍 collective intellectual humility: "the tendency of collectives to recognize and attend to the intellectual limitations of both their individual members and their collective cognitive efforts.” (1/2) #PsychSciSky #AcademicSky #EduSky https://buff.ly/402IqPR

I was challenged to learn more about the labels others have placed on me, and it's actually helping me learn more about myself and my process.

I stand by this.

switching back to a flip phone so i can go off the grid by dramatically snapping it in half and flinging the two pieces into separate dumpsters as i leave town

But sadly, that’s not how it works.

I watch absolutely nothing, ever. What should I watch while Apple TV+ is free?

The hardest part of digesting psychology research is resisting the temptation to state findings as facts.

I like when the second phase of the boss battle gives the boss a different, fancier name

Revenge isn’t the answer to a betrayal.

“Being mad isn’t activism” is something that basically everyone on social media needs to burn into their brains.

Discworld QOTD, from The Color of Magic “'Can't we do anything about it?' 'No!' 'Then I can't see the sense in panicking', said Twoflower calmly."

The cowardice of game remakes is that they always chose celebrated titles to remake and use the most modern standard systems to adapt while they should tackle those flawed games that have troubled developments of budget cuts that never reached their full potential, those need remakes.

tbh it is pretty wild that companies will simultaneously moan about "losing money" to piracy while also actively refusing to sell things to people that they already have totally available and could put up for digital sale at any time. like sorry you are choosing to be bad at business. sounds rough

Me with nine sols

Nine sols gave me gamer's thumb. By which I mean I am bad at video games AND extremely stubborn and bullheaded, to my own detriment.

Reminder: pls don't quote dunk or respond to professional trolls. They literally monetize any interaction - very happily engaging in online fights for attention, which = money. So when you respond to them, you're giving them money. Don't give money to trolls. Just report and block.
