Another short sighted suit. Not only is it cruel, it doesn't save any money when you factor in the cost of a shelter, a prison or hospital. Give them the housing they need and other costs go down as well as giving these folks a fighting chance.

If they had a referendum nation wide today, I would opt to get these people warm and dry because the cost of letting people fester on the streets or in unstable housing is a lot greater. The human toll should be enough but we are living in an increasingly callous world.

I don’t know how people expect homeless folks NOT to use drugs just to function. Imagine trying to sleep on the hard ground in bad weather worried about cops or people trying to rob you or beat you? I have a hard enough time sleeping in my king size bed. Have compassion people.

Decades, Ontario gave out bus tickets to welfare recipients/transients to head west to BC.

Feds give Provinces $billions in health transfers.

Provinces balanced deficits with it (or gas subsidies).
