It's unfortunately the only way to reach a lot of (more typically male, older) potential voters who watch very little live tv. What blows me away are how many ads they're showing here for a Lehigh Valley congressional race for which 92% of Delaware Valley viewers aren't in the district.
I had to turn it off. My kids were watching and were actually interested, but I can't handle having to explain to them all the ways people can be that hateful.
I am so protected from ads — I don’t watch much linear, and I pay for most things not to have ads, and I haven’t seen these watching https://MLB.tv, so I have genuinely seen almost no political ads. And now it’s like … oh, THIS is where the advertising is?
It's been years since we watched much local, live tv--Colbert might be the exception--but part of it was to avoid the political ads every two years. Living near Louisville, we had three cycles of McConnell ads, for example.
Got a Mike Braun ad on Hulu the other day, and it was laughably boring.
The Trump ads are awful and incoherent, and I hate that I'm exposed to them during sports, when that could (and should) be one of the brief reprieves I get from stressing about this election.
My favorite ad was for Keytruda, a drug that is supposed to help some cancer patients. The side effects can be disfigurement, catastrophic organ failure (lungs, heart, kidneys, brain, etc.) vomiting, diarrhea, and death. Now, have fun watching the game!
