People have to make lifestyle changes WHILE on Ozempic or the drug won't work! There are people who don't lose weight on Ozempic because they don't do this. Ozempic facilitates lifestyle changes in those who need help with those.

Hypocritical yes. But believe that GLP-1s might not be all the are cracked up to be. Evidence that you loose muscle mass at faster rate, and that when they’re stopped, there is rebound weight gain but now with lower muscle mass

They are not a panacea, but I know several people whose lives have been utterly transformed—better health, better metabolic indicators, weight loss—& they have been taking these medicines for years. For some people, they have great benefits.

Certainly very hard to loose weight with lifestyle changes alone when BMI in 40+ range. Would help if there were some preventative measures from Govt on UPFs

I favor taxing UPFs (Colombia’s junk food tax includes UPFs). The evidence of health harms from UPFs is now strong enough to warrant public action.

Yes, I think the chances are close to zero that RFK Jr enacts any meaningful, sustained policies that greatly improve US & global public health. I’d be shocked if the MAGA crowd actually allows him to tax UPFs.

Some of us have been managing diabetes for decades. It's a disease. A progressive disease. I made it ten years on diet and exercise alone. My blood sugar is well controlled, but now 20 years in, I need to protect my kidneys. A GLP-1 agonist is part of the renal protection package.
