It's funny that pretty much universally when streets opens up for pedestrians and cyclists things get better yet some people in power just refuse to listen.

I wonder if Toronto could block or challenge ford using actual statistics on safety, pollution, noise etc.

No conflict? There is a lot of conflict. Not in Netherlans or Denmark. But in Germany, coming from Berlin, automobile violence against cyclists. And it is regularly played down or denied by the police and the state. It‘s not funny here.

I cycled on Bloor St before the bike lanes and traffic was always terrible then too. It just came with the added risk of death or injury if someone opened their door at the wrong time.

8,000 estimated cyclists a day using those lanes, yet I wouldn't be surprised if there was a lot of opposition at the time they were installed in 2017.
