We're disappointed to see @foe.org.au using the anniversary of the Fukushima nuclear accident to exploit people's trauma and fears to push an agenda which doesn’t align with the scientific evidence.

How can organisations like Friends of the Earth ask people to listen to the science on climate change when they themselves refuse to listen to the science on nuclear energy?
As an environmental and humanist organisation, WePlanet Australia supports nuclear energy because it is a proven source of clean, safe, and reliable energy that can work alongside other clean energy such as wind and solar to help us address climate change and create a better future.
It’s not clean to wait 20 years for a plant to be built, continuing fossil fuel generation during that wait. And it’s not cheap when nuclear costs multiples of what wind and solar does. And our cheap rooftop solar is then shut off to allow nuclear to generate, us then forced to pay for $$$ nuclear.
Who said anything about waiting? Have you been sucked into the idea that we can only ever do nuclear energy according to the Coalition’s plan as of 2025?
Nuclear’s expensive to build and you get what you pay for. Think nuclear plays badly with solar? You should see how badly solar plays with solar!
