Super interesting to look at the best-selling books of all time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_books
Couple observations:
Surprised that the now-obscure book "She" by Rider Haggard sold so many! I happen to have read it during a Victorian adventure binge, and it's very much of its time.

Another surprise was several books I've just never heard of: The Eagle Has Landed, The Ginger Man, both sold over 50M copies.
I also wouldn't have guessed what's in the top slot. Go ahead, guess and check!
Like, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has sold 20M copies. Total, ever.

She
King Solomon's Mines
Eric Brighteyes
And possssssibly one or two of the first Quatermain sequels. Btw, there was an awful She/Quatermain crossover! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She_and_Allan
Literal perfect comfy chair, fireplace, and tea reading. Liquid charm. I have most of her books.
Of course Theodore Roosevelt LOVED Haggard's books.
