This is an escalation in terms of whom the label “activist” is attributed to. In the last years it was “activist lawyers” - an intended slur Tories used for immigration / human rights lawyers in UK. My research shows how lawyers began to embrace the term. Now it’s judges who get attacked by Labour!

Uhm, I assume that Robert Colville has read the Telegraph articles which he is using as examples in his Times column, an interesting move for a columnist btw? The eye catching headlines aside, they are somewhat disingenuous in their arguments. 1/
