So much is sacrificed by service members.
Even then, though, he didn't give it up. Many witnesses said Carney refused to give the flag to his rescuers, holding onto it tighter until, with assistance, he made it to the barracks
This tarnishing of the history of our Armed Forces is utterly shameful.
On the other hand, some of the historical facts have just broken my heart at the appalling way Black Americans were (and still are) treated.
Going forward, we need to do better.

I'm a grants researcher & basically have that table set up for cancelled Fed grants right now, I'm sorry to say.
I think everyone is still in “save” mode but a consolidation or reference project probably needs to happen, soon.
