Rosie is also feeling much better after having all her teeth out, but for her it mostly manifests in a slightly greater frequency of "more petting, human" looks

Axl just got his final teeth removed this week! He’s been struggling but it feels like he turned a corner tonight. This was him straight after surgery tho still high as a kite
I’m gonna bring out an ice pack tomorrow and see if he’s drawn to it or not. He spent most of Saturday laying on me on the sofa drooling slightly pink drool. Most of his teeth came out when we brought him home but he had those 4 fangs for 3 extra years. His late fangs:
Baaaaaaby. I was thisclose to feeding Rosie jars of baby food she could lick off the back of a spoon before she finally started eating again, but thankfully she's much improved now.
For new folks: Rosie is the spoils of an act of grand theft gato. We had four cats! Four cats was plenty of cat! And then I went to go help a buddy recover from surgery. "You'll never see Rosie", he said. "She doesn't like people," he said.
I walked in to his place and the next morning I woke up to, well, pretty much the exact picture I just took. All Rosie wanted that entire week was to be no further than six inches from my face at all times.
She would see me wake up and if she wasn't already loafed up next to my pillow waiting for me to wake up (and she'd start purring the minute I did), she would see me waking up and race across the room to get there. (She still does that and it's fucking adorable.)
By like the third day Shep and I were joking about her stowing away in my suitcase when I left again or she'd pine away without me. Towards the end of the week I looked at Shep, Shep looked at me. "We're not joking about this, are we," we realized, because nope, Rosie had Decided.
She was happy enough with Shep for a decade-plus after she brought him two litters of kittens once she was done raising them and he finally got her trapped and fixed and she grudgingly moved indoors, but when she saw me she was like "excuse ME what the fuck TOOK you this long I've been WAITING."
I messaged Sarah, who I'd been sending pictures all week, like "hey, babe, you know how Shep's cat who hates everyone has decided I'm hers? Would you divorce me if I brought her home with me?" and the rest is history. We joke she had waited 12 years to find her very own lesbians.
I keep reminding myself that the world is on fire and I only have a very small thimble, but no matter what else, I can always make one small creature deliriously happy just by scritching her ears and that honestly really helps a ton
I was just thinking about Rosie today (tho I couldn't grasp her name, it was just the cat that picked rahaeli) glad she's still with us and doing well.
I absolutely adore her and I am happy to let her live out the rest of her days as the sole feline occupant of the bedroom (she and Ruth fight over the bed otherwise, alas) getting pampered and lazing about on her pillow, six inches from my face
I had my cat Boomer’s bottom molars removed and she almost immediately started sleeping with her chin flat on the bed/couch/whatever. She’s done that ever since 🤷♀️
Yeah, she had a few teeth out last year when all those years of "vanish when you even think about taking her to the vet", and this year her remaining teeth were so bad we just had them all pulled! She is almost all healed up and feeling so much better now.
She's the fourth? Fifth? cat we've had with no teefs. Definitely the hardest to medicate afterwards: the "I will begrudgingly let you grab me" only goes so far when it comes to interfering with Her Majesty's bodily autonomy, heh.
My torbie was actually very friendly as long as you were not a vet or vet tech. I more than once heard ROWR HISSSSS coming audibly from back examination rooms when they were trying to do minimally invasive things to her. One emerg vet told me they wouldn’t take a blood sample because she bit them
Mine might need to get the rest of her chompers out at some point but currently she doesn’t have killer breath (the instigator of her first dental adventure) and seems okay generally so I’m leaving it

Rosie Mew, is her full name.
I’m glad your Rosie is feeling better. It’s so hard when they’re not ok.
Cat distribution system. You can’t beat it.
