I really hope this is how Nintendo will treat all its mobile stuff from now on, although I'm not confident TPC follows the same line of thought. One of the reasons I dislike mobile games is the fact that they're basically thrown away after ceasing support.

I can't help but feel that if a company shutters a server for a game that people payed for, they should be forced to release the server binaries/code for the community to be able to take up the mantle. The number of "unofficial" servers out there for other games proves there is a demand for it.

i loved pokemon duel, i opened it occassionally bc i crave thinking games that's not too heavy. i played it a lot. i never finished the story- i wanted to. i kept playing in ranked most of the time. I truly miss this game

I enjoyed Pokemon Duel a lot when it was out. Also, while not Pokemon related, Nintendo not making an offline version of Dragalia Lost, their first ever Original Mobile IP (if you don’t count Miitomo), was a crime.

Honestly one of my favorite parts about Pokemon Duel was when a budget comp became meta. Playing a Swablu comp was pretty fun and I feel like games like that could benefit from having f2p options be meta relevant (even if they are more T2 or T3 kind of things rather than T1)

I agree EXCEPT 2 things; how they're handing the Pkmn items sicne they have a say in if those get added and yet only alllowing u to have em if u had em from way back when in online ver of PC and transfer ur save data to Complete? Thats lame & how D save data transfer is done here, that can be better

It’s the way most big mobile games should end. With an offline only version of the game that you can play like a traditional console title.

Pokemon definitely needs to do that, though I think Dragalia Lost and Dr Mario World should have gone the same way too.

I dunno if charging people who've spent $$$ over the years another $20 for a less-good version of the game that will end in a year is QUITE the best route.

Some sort of grandfathered version, where regulars get in for free, would have been a lot less mercenary.

Where you get access to every item that they ever had (minus Sanrio apparently) for one flat rate! Even people who spent money on the game won't have everything. And it's not going to end in a year. It won't end at all. Just they won't add new events after that.
