The problem is the same can be said for Democrats. They could shut this shit down immediately by simply not passing any appropriations bills, not letting anything out of committee, etc. But they value business as usual so corporate profits don't take a hit, rather than stopping republicans.

My House member is a Dem. He's not one of the big names, but he's consistently been great at this kind of thing (holding town halls, responding to calls and emails, sending out emails with "if cuts in federal services are affecting you and yours, click here to tell me how" links).

Blue governors should do rival state of the unions. All house reps should be doing town halls. All county parties should have someone hosting town halls in republican districts. Draw as much attention to your communities as possible while also boycotting the actual address. Make SOTU irrelevant
