I’ve mentioned this here before but people aren’t treating AI like a tool or even a religion (that latter one has been the theme of not a small amount cultural commentary). They’re treating AI like an IDENTITY.

A friend is being questioned for not using Chat GPT in his job, with the implication that his refusal is a form of pretension, and I cannot cope with the fact that within less than two years this is the attitude workers have decided to take. But here we are.
