atproto and bluesky has been built by a group of extremely talented and thoughtful engineers. it’s pretty remarkable.
that said, there was a key piece missing from the architecture! we forgot to first build a social app with hundreds of millions of users to advertise bluesky on.

No more jockeying for consistent usernames when you can use existing DNS records as social proof.

I'd love to kno how many of those new users convert into active ones. I'd bet Bluesky wins on that front considering a good portion of Threads' users r just IG users who opted into an account w/o even thinking about it.
