I'm on holiday so I don't know what day it is and forgot good news friday. So, for one week only (until the next time I forget)...it's good news saturday! What's your good news from teh week? What's made you smile?

I think I have made it very clear that my good hair earlier in the week was the high bar. Which does slightly betray the harder content of my week. BUT I also had a great writing group meeting.
Happy holiday! I hope you're having a great time.
This week, foxgloves!
Finding out the big pink daisies are actually called "seaside daisies".
Another loo roll spider!
Drinks with friends who stopped over on their way somewhere else.
Do you unroll the toilet roll and draw sparkly purple spiders on it and then roll it back up again? Excellent.
Is it like pass the parcel? Are there prizes?
The only prizes are the surprise when they come back out. My daughter got the idea from Louie's Loki activity book and insisted that this one was left for Mum to discover.
My favourite is the snake we've now displayed above the wash basin.
I have started a fantastic new course with the open university, Introducing the psychology of our relationships with fictional villains. I am loving it already.
I finally got to grips with Query Tracker and used it to start querying my new MG SF novel (which I absolutely love) with agents, so just sitting back now and waiting for the replies to come pouring in...
The more I talk about it with people the less I think Piper is actually the next Doctor. Is it a Bad Wolf thing? Something else connected to the spirit of the TARDIS? Something entirely new? Glad your mum's liking her home xx
Well, tbh I don’t even know how Rose could be the new doctor - I mean she’s not a time lord. But I guess we did have the two last doctors together which shouldn’t happen.
Suppose we’ll have to wait and see, but I agree that it feels a bit no it’s not actually her! 😊 xx
Well, when the regeneration first happened, I assumed the Doctor was taking the face of his former companion for psychological reasons - like 12 taking the face of a Pompeiian guy as a reminder to be good. Perhaps taking Rose's face as a reminder to love? BUT I don't think that's what's happening...
Hope you’re having a great holiday! My good news is @jamiesmart.bsky.social setting my kids’ imagination on fire with a draw along this morning. Much revelling in drawings of poos and now the wee one is away making his own hero slam cards. Love it!
It's gig season for my all women samba band and I've played at two town galas in the last seven days. Getting to the point where there's no point washing the glitter off my face in between. Making loud loud noise that people actually enjoy is my happy time.
Plotting the final act of Aldo book six. So many reversals and revelations, can't wait to write the last 20k! Oh, since I can't draw, my special stamp to go in Aldo book five arrived today.
I received a lovely handmade thank you card for National Volunteer Week and completed the CELTA course, for teaching English to speakers of other languages. Have a lovely holiday 😊
Had my favourite people over for my birthday, went for some delicious BBQ food with my husband for our anniversary and won this delightful collection of stories inspired by Scottish folklore, complete with stickers, postcard, bookmark and hag stone! It has been an excellent week!
I bought a painting at a local art fair this morning! My beige apartment wall is more vivid and I had so many fantastic conversations with local artists and their support folks (family, friends, and the exceptional canines too)
I managed a swim today and yesterday I got a spontaneous round of applause when I demonstrated the shot put throw to my Friday class. Hope you’re having a good holiday.
Had a text yesterday from a dark soul sibling (also one of my fave writers) to say they'd started Keshed. The verdict from whatever point she'd got upto was:
"Fuuuuuuuuckkkkkkkkkk It’s even more amazing than I imagined you brilliant dreamcunt genius. It's like reading a molotov cocktail."
I should say my new book coming out (shameless plug). But the real good news is: this is the last weekend of A level stress before eldest finishes next week. Much rejoicing from parents as well as daughter 😆
GOOD NEWS SATURDAY!!! I'm happy you are on holiday! I'm ready for publication week to begin and I feel really blessed to have people rallying around helping me out - like friends who are going to take my dog for a wee (or a poo!) when I'm away in London!
I'm feeling incredibly blessed to have received this ultra-rare proof copy of Katherine Rundell's follow-up to Impossible Creatures yesterday (which is also very hard to photograph well).
You couldn't just ask for a copy, you had to pitch why you deserved one, so I gushed unashamedly!
i make stuff out of yarn, but was hot and not many people bought stuff and it wasn't well advertised, but i'm going to try another festival in town around september

BRB, off to experiment.
And, we're using the bamboo stuff from Cheeky Panda, which is pretty good.
which I can't share.
So - smug face, but zipped lips.
Enjoy your holiday 😊 xx
