chicos yo se que esto es dificil de asumir, y me caen bien las protestas de sus universidades, pero eeuu no es el ombligo del mundo, y por el sur de sus protestas nos enteramos quienes pasamos tiempo en bluesky. abrazo.
A college doesn’t have to worry about diplomacy much, just getting people in. Country has to worry about a lot more. It’s easy for a college to say no they won’t support killing civilians, hell should be easy for anyone.
Sure but the college has to deal with their host country's politics, being shut down or fined or whatever. I think it really is a complicated comparison.
But yes, ideally this should be an obvious and easy thing to say.
Even more ideally, there shouldn't be a genocide in the first place.
This week, students at ColUmbia University in New York City have been protesting the university's ownership of shares in Israeli businesses and in US weapons manufacturers that directly support Israel's military. The headline sounds like it refers to the university if you don't read closely.
I guess it never occurred to me that anyone could be that ignorant. Not sure what happened to my brain there, because OF COURSE they’re that ignorant. 🤦🏻♀️
For real, the Washington DC drivers licenses had to be changed not to read "District of Columbia" anymore because people kept getting stopped at/entering US airports for "not having a passport"
