It was not an Open bout, from what I have read it was open tournament. In fencing open tournaments are not heavily restricting who can enter but, the individual events can still be divided however the tournament officials decide. This "protest" occurred in the Division 1A Women’s Foil event.
Of course. Im just pointing out the absurdity of "they have an unfair advantage in our game of who can touch each other with a metal stick the fastest"
Like whats the advantage supposed to be? Longer arms?
It's funny how frequently transphobes will say their actions are because the person "is a man" but then their actions are drastically different than their actions regarding actual cis men.
Makes it extremely obvious they have a problem with trans people and are just trying to maintain a cover story
This specific woman who made a scene has herself competed willingly against men before and since.
It's a pattern you notice if you pay attention. They claim just see trans women as men...but the way they treat trans women is far worse than the way they treat men.

That and probably most of them are there on scholarships and aren't willing to sacrifice to protest the bigoted treatment of a teammate.

Pretty damn clear as to why.

However, I guess that lands under being able to fence left-handed.
A lot of people who write right-handed still fence left handed. Should we force them to use their birth dominant hand?
