Right? They were one of my favorite developers of the era. PGR was THE racing game. And Geometry Wars was one of the best games for the 360 arcade - simple, visually distinct, and easy to play but hard to master.

They were such a forward designing company. Such a shame.

Blur was such an awesome game, one of my favorite racing game along with MSR. The audio of the power ups was fantastic.

I remember it being marketed as the "call of duty of driving", such a dumb approach.

Really wished it came back on steam.

I picked up PGR 4 and Blur for Xbox 360 last year, both great games. Wish we got more arcade racers of that quality these days.

Totally agree John. MSR and PGR were both phenomenal series and I still have my 360 plugged in so I can sometimes dive back into the PGR games. After that they were thrown into really odd titles (007 Blood Stone for a studio famed for racing games, really?)

PGR3 was the first game I can remember that included fully rendered interiors for all of their cars. And it had a track editor! In 2005!

I have hope that because self publishing games is now so much easier given most games are sold digitally coupled with the way games marketing is now often more organic and doesn't need to be focused all on the first month of sales, more developers will be able to stay independent.

The fact he can barely remember the title of a game of the calibre of PGR or the Studio is indicative of the support Bobby / Activision provided, he is correct it was an expensive lesson, but Bobby seems to be taking the wrong lessons..

PGR was my absolute FAVORITE game when I was little, and when I found out they got canned after pgr4 I started hating Activision even though I barely knew how the games industry worked. Then they dropped guitar hero and I knew they were the problem. Screw Activision for ruining all our fun.
