Hated that column so much. The idea that people would want to rely on data/AI memory instead of their own thoughts and instincts is terrifying. And trusting AI to know and reflect YOU and not the bias/ignorance/racism of others? Or not try to push groupthink, corporate or govt interest? No way.

(It wasn't my idea, though I liked it a lot.) Since then it has started to seem to me that we were, accidentally, explaining the entire project of the 21st century tech world. All algorithmic learning projects are meant to divorce us from our decisions. To trust them more than ourselves.
