We may never recover from this. Talking with a former community college colleague, who insisted cuts to education were needed. I pointed out that without the DOE, our students would be unable to obtain the grants and loans they need to go to college. I’m retired. He will be out of a job.

A lot of people at all levels of education will be out of a job. And all of our students in our rural school districts will really suffer. Some of our rural school districts are already beginning to struggle with food service because of cuts in the USDA funding for local foods and school lunches.
