For context my brother and I were broke college kids who lived together and this was all we had in the kitchen.
Brown some butter, splash soy sauce in and throw the cooked pasta in while it's sizzling. Top with pepper flakes
You can also put an egg on it, chili crisp, parm… it tastes like buttered pasta but somehow more buttery
-Diced white onion
-Can of kidney beans
-4 Cups Broth (usually use beef broth but any works)
Caramelize the onions with salt, pepper, and paprika. Throw in kidney beans and broth. Season as needed. Boil for 10-20 minutes.
You can add anything else you desire to the recipe.
dry pasta
garlic powder (or jarred garlic for extra fancy)
can of clams + juice
red pepper flakes
butter
boil pasta, save some water. dump entire can of clams + juice, garlic powder, pepper flakes into pot, reduce by half, add pasta. finish w pasta water. reduce heat. add butter.
corn tortillas (flour fine too)
can kidney beans
can green chiles
taco seasoning
half brick white cheddar
mash cheese, canned shit, seasoning together. fry in thin film oil till crispy. good with jarred salsa too + high protein.
they aint pretty but they get the job done
also dont sleep on frozen vegetables
Soak 2 cups of beans overnight. Doesn't matter the kind, I prefer navy
Drain and cover beans with about 1" of water.
Add a smoked ham hock and a large quartered onion and a couple bayleaves
Cook for 2-3 hours
Cook the beans until they're very tender.
Remove the bay leaves and the hock skin and discard them
Mash the onion in the pot any beans as collateral is fine and wanted
Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Save the bone for a light stock or for making split pea soup!
Canned chickpeas (1 tin) - washed extremely well
Rolled oats 1/3 cup
Any nut butter 1/2 cup
Liquid sweetener 1/4 cup or to taste - maple syrup, corn syrup, liquid glucose, honey, etc
And 2-6 tablespoons of milk or milk alternative
Chocolate
Process until smooth. If you need more liquid add the milk one tablespoon at a time to loosen it. You want it thick, but still blendable.
If it gets too thin, add more oats.
Add salt to taste at the end and blend again
Eat with a spoon or on a graham cracker
If you remove the skin from the chickpeas while washing them, it'll be even smoother, but it won't affect the taste too much
prep time 5 minutes
bake 1 hour @ 350°.
can be made w pork chops.
Soak dried beans overnight
Follow any recipe to cook dried beans
flavor with any combo of seasonings, herbs or citrus you like
Same for rice of any grain
Serve with a protein if you so desire, mix with lettuce for a hearty salad, rinse and repeat
