There are whole categories of professional people who do planetary science that don't go to the meetings because they're not typically for us, e.g., mission ops folks, telescope ops, software developers; a remote option would be welcome I think.

Remote attendance is also an accessibility feature for those who cannot travel, those who have sight or hearing needs, among others. The tech isn't perfect but it's better than not being able to be involved at all.
It's not just the meetings, and yes, accessibility matters and is something that should be core to this effort, but a professional planetary science society should encompass those folks you've listed. Its strength will come from being open and broad.
